Elect Susan Chapelle
Ward 14 Toronto-Danforth City Council Candidate
I have already done this job.
Experienced: Two-term elected municipal councillor with experience in housing, transit, budgets, infrastructure, community health, and economic development.
Practical: A career across healthcare, research, technology, labour, business, and government, focused on making systems work better for people.
Local: Running to build a more affordable, connected, vibrant, and responsive Toronto-Danforth.
Toronto-Danforth is a community I’ve called home for most of my life. I’ve built businesses here, worked across healthcare, research, technology, labour, and government, and spent my career helping systems work better for people.
Our neighbourhood is changing. Residents, families, seniors, renters, artists, and small businesses are facing rising costs, development pressure, and growing concerns about community well-being.
I’m running because Toronto-Danforth can grow while remaining affordable, connected, vibrant, and welcoming. That means better services, stronger local businesses, accessible public spaces, and local government that listens and responds.
This campaign is about practical action, community connection, and responsive local government. I am running to bring experienced, thoughtful, and accountable leadership to Toronto-Danforth.
I am running to bring experienced, thoughtful, and accountable leadership to Toronto-Danforth and help build a healthier future for everyone who calls this community home.
Community
I grew up in Toronto-Danforth, built businesses here, and chose to make this community my home. I also know from serving on municipal council that growth must be planned around people, not just buildings. Density must be accompanied by parks, safe streets, walkability, community spaces, and the infrastructure that keeps neighbourhoods vibrant and connected.
Opportunity
Small and medium-sized businesses are the heart of our main streets and local economy. As Toronto grows, we must protect local jobs, creative workspaces, affordable places to live, and access to care. Opportunity means being able to live, work, build a business, and thrive in your own community.
Action
Good ideas only matter when they lead to results. Effective leadership means setting clear priorities, bringing the right people together, navigating government, and following through. Residents deserve open communication, measurable progress, and a councillor who knows how to move decisions into action.
